Grab Contribution Special Transportation to Partner's Wife Training

In cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenparekraf), Grab Indonesia provides a four-wheeled fleet service, specifically for 73 Covid-19 medical personnel traveling between the Mintoharjo Naval Hospital (RSAL Mintoharjo) and Le Meridien Hotel.

Grab is committed to continuing to expand this special fleet to various referral hospitals to support the government in handling Covid-19.

This cooperation was formalized by Wishnutama Kusubandio, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia and Ridzki Kramadibrata, President of Grab Indonesia at the Le Meridien Hotel, Jakarta, recently.

“Currently the government is entering the emergency response period and the handling and prevention of the spread of this virus are the main focus of the government. We have appointed several hotels as a place to stay for health workers, who hope to provide support and convenience for them to work in the COVID-19 Referral Hospital and provide support for the hotel business,” Wishnutama said through his statement on Friday (05/08/2020).

He believes this collaboration can provide security for the mobility of health workers and communities in need during this pandemic and in the future support the Indonesian tourism industry to revive.

Provide a Special Transportation for Medical Workers

As Grab’s commitment in providing safe and comfortable transportation services, especially during the pandemic and expansion of PSBB in various regions in Indonesia, Grab dedicated a special four-wheeled fleet that will serve health workers who are at the forefront in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia.

This special fleet has a plastic partition inside the car that protects the driver and passengers and is regularly disinfected. Ridzki Kramadibrata, President of Grab Indonesia, said that we are all striving to reduce the spread of COVID-19 in Indonesia with our respective roles.

“While, most of us stay at home, we know that there are still many people who have duties and responsibilities outside the home, including health workers,” he said.

Integrated Safety Standards

To ensure safe mobility during the PSBB period, Grab has presented a special four-wheeled fleet with integrated safety standards and we are very pleased to be able to work with Kemenparekraf to help the mobility of health workers to rest after serving in handling COVID-19 patients.

“In line with GrabForGood’s mission to bring a positive impact from technology, we are also ready to be able to support the rising tourism industry,” Ridzki said.

The following 5 extra protections are offered on a special four-wheel fleet for medical personnel.

1. Maximum capacity of 3 passengers to maintain a safe distance

2. Plastic partitions to protect the driver and passengers

3. Driver-partners receive special SOP training related to preventing the spread of COVID-19

4. The driver’s partner is equipped with Personal Protective Equipment (masks, gloves and hand sanitizers)

5. Periodic spraying of disinfectants on cars (before and after delivering passengers)

Grab also Provides Training to the Driver-Partner’s Wife

Grab Indonesia in collaboration with Makassar Jeans House, to provide training in making masks for the wife of the driver’s partner in order to contribute to increasing family income.

Makassar City Manager, Grab Indonesia, Ahmad Hidayat said that as the pandemic continued, many driver-partners were affected. With this training, the driver’s partner wife can get new skills and increase productivity.

“We hope this training can help increase income to meet the daily needs of the families of our driver-partners. In line with GrabFood’s mission to use technology for good, we are happy to be able to carry out this activity,” he said quoting his written statement in Jakarta, Friday (8 / 5/2020).

Furthermore, Makassar Jeans House Company Business Owner, Sidiq Pradipta Laksmana said that his party was pleased to be able to work with Makassar Grab to increase the skills of the driver’s partner’s wife. From the training that was followed as initial capital, he was sure they could be motivated to run the business going forward with the stock they already had.
