Cakap Collaborates with AR&Co to Bring AR Technology to the Latest Services

Edtech startup Cakap will apply Augmented Reality (AR) technology at the video conference in the launch of their new product Mandarin for Kids. In practice, Cakap collaborates with one of the Augmented Reality technology companies from Indonesia, namely AR & Co, which is part of the WIR Group.

Cakap said that the Mandarin for Kids class is expected to be an alternative for learning Mandarin, including those who wish to continue their education in China. Mandarin for Kids uses a live tutoring method that connects students with professional Chinese speakers.

Thus, students are expected to improve their Mandarin language skills effectively and attractively through this class. “Children need a reality [real object] in learning because the abstract concept has not yet developed. This is increasingly important in languages that have pictograph references such as Mandarin,” said Yoshua Yanottama, Course Manager at Cakap.

The use of AR technology, according to Yoshua, will be able to meet these needs, so that the learning process will run better.

Immersive Experiences for Children

Yoshua also said that the experience of using AR in learning Mandarin will add to the attraction and make it easier for children to capture learning material, especially in this pandemic, where immersive experiences in learning are very limited.

Meanwhile, Juliwina, General Manager of AR & Co stated that this collaboration with Cakap involves digital reality technology from a product they call “ISeeAR”. “This will provide solutions to various challenges in online interactions, even creating new forms of interaction that do not yet exist in the real world,” said Juliwina.

AR & Co Introduces 3D Technology for Video Conference

The innovative technology company based on digital reality AR & Co launched a new product in the form of the IseeAR application to provide solutions to the limitations of direct contact since the emergence of the Covid-19 pandemic.

This application offers a feature that is able to display any product in 3-dimensions that can be viewed directly in detail and immersively during video conferencing on the Zoom, Google Meet and other platforms, only through web cameras that are already available on the market, or those already installed on the computer.

CEO of WIR Group, parent company of AR & Co, Michael Budi said, the IseeARi application was created to meet the real needs of people who have to work and learn from home because of the pandemic.

“Since the pandemic occurred and physical restrictions were imposed, people have no choice but to interact online. Digital reality technology from the AR & Co-Eye application provides solutions to various challenges in online interactions, even creating new forms of interaction that do not yet exist in the real world,” he said, Tuesday (2/2/2021).

Nowadays, content material that appears in the form of augmented reality needs to be processed by the developer team from AR & Co. In the future, AR & Co will create a platform so that some of these processes can be carried out directly by the user.

“Anyone who is used to communicating via video conferencing can easily use this IseeAR feature. The use for teaching and learning processes will certainly be overflowed. It will also help the marketing staff in selling various kinds of products.”

“It’s very practical and creates a wow factor,” said General Manager of AR & Co, as well as IseeAR developer, Juliwina. WIR Group and AR & Co hope that this application can be quickly recognized and used by the wider community.
