Warung Pintar Pushes Digitization of Distribution Systems in Grocery Stores

To solve this problem, Warung Pintar continues to develop integrated technology solutions that address problems at every level of distribution in the warung ecosystem, from brands, distributors, wholesalers, to shop owners.

The layered traditional distribution channels make the product distribution information obtained by each stakeholder in the stall or grocery store ecosystem still asymmetrical.

For brands, this results in strategic planning that is not right on target and makes shop owners get stock prices for goods that are higher than they should be.

In this case, Warung Pintar Group announced a collaboration with Coca-Cola Europacific Partners Indonesia or CCEP Indonesia, to digitize the distribution system to traditional warungs or grocery stores without disrupting official distributors who have worked with CCEP Indonesia.

This is done as one of CCEP’s strategies to obtain more transparent product distribution data which will later be used as a basis for initiating optimal distribution and marketing strategies.

The CEO of Warung Pintar Group, Agung Bezharie, said that this collaboration will enable CCEP Indonesia to obtain transparency of consumer data and the potential for product distribution to more than 500,000 stalls in the Warung Pintar ecosystem in the future.

“The digitalization of traditional channels created by Warung Pintar aims to provide information transparency, to assist all parties in creating effective and profitable product distribution and marketing strategies for the entire stall ecosystem,” Agung said in a statement, Friday (6/25/2021).

For brands, he continued, they not only get relevant distribution data, but can also directly implement distribution and marketing strategies that are faster, more efficient, and more focused in the ecosystem.

Digital Disruption to the Frontline

Meanwhile, Marketing Director of CCEP Indonesia, Lakshman Peiris, admitted that the company consistently invests in advanced systems and technology, to support manufacturing and distribution processes in Indonesia.

“Currently, we are expanding our digital disruption efforts to the vanguard of the business to support a growth strategy as the main focus by leveraging various existing online channels,” he said.

CCEP Indonesia’s partnership with Warung Pintar Group enables CCEP Indonesia to obtain transparency of consumer data and the potential for product distribution to more than 500,000 stalls within the Warung Pintar Group ecosystem in the future.

The number of stalls will continue to grow in line with the growth of Warung Pintar which is targeted to have 1,000,000 stalls in the next three years.

As one of the largest distribution channels in Indonesia, product distribution information obtained by each stakeholder in the warung ecosystem is still asymmetrical.

For brands, this results in inappropriate strategic planning and shop owners who get stock prices for goods that are higher than they should be.

Since its establishment in 2017, Warung Pintar Group has continued to develop integrated technology solutions that address problems at every level of distribution in the warung ecosystem, from brands, distributors, wholesalers, to shop owners.
