Following Gojek and Grab, Tokopedia Collaborated with GoApotik to Provide Health Services

Ride-hailing startup, Gojek and Grab, have provided health services through GoMed and GrabHealth. Now, it’s the turn of the e-commerce company, Tokopedia that provides similar features in collaboration with GoApotik. Tokopedia AVP of Business Jessica Stephanie Jap said that her company was focused on becoming a super ecosystem.

For this reason, Tokopedia opens collaboration opportunities with many strategic partners. And, one of them is GoApotik. He stated that Tokopedia cooperated with GoApotik to facilitate the Indonesian people to get health equipment safely. “We see a significant need from the community for drugs and health equipment on the platform.”

Based on its internal data, the number of transactions in the health category has increased by more than 200% from July to September 2019. Therefore, Tokopedia cooperates with the health startup PT Global Urban Essential or GoApotik to provide better solutions for this case.

Users can redeem doctor’s prescriptions online by uploading them to the Chat feature. The recipe will be verified for authenticity and validity by a partner pharmacy from GoApotik. After that, the pharmacy will prepare the medicine according to the prescription.

Then, logistics partners from Tokopedia will deliver the drug to the buyer’s address. GoApotik itself is an online-based pharmacy aggregator or comparison platform. Global Urban Essential holds an Electronic System Provider (PSE) license and has applied the principles of pharmaceutical distribution and services, especially medicines through e-commerce.

Tokopedia Also Cooperated with the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency

Head of GoApotik Mohamad Salahuddin said that his company was responsible for presenting pharmacies that were legal, licensed, and verified. The company also encourages the role of pharmacists in serving patients’ questions and answers related to medicines purchased and consumed.

Meanwhile, Tokopedia cooperates with the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM) in supervising the distribution, delivery, promotion, and advertising of drug and food sales on the platform. “We will continue to assist businesses to improve product competitiveness and provide access to safe drugs,” Head of BPOM Penny K Lukito said.

If Tokopedia focuses on being a super ecosystem, Gojek and Grab that carry the concept of Super App also provide health services. Super App is a term for applications that provide daily services. Gojek is collaborating with a health startup, Halodoc to provide GoMed features since 2016.

The following year, the Indonesian decacorn injected capital into Halodoc. On the other hand, Grab has launched the beta version of GrabHealth. This brand-new service is part of the collaboration between Grab and the Chinese startup, Ping An Good Doctor.

“Currently, it is in beta version and is only available for 10% of Grab users,” a Grab spokesman said as quoted from Kr.Asia, some time ago. Even so, Grab has been reviewing these services since the beginning of this year.

Other Features Were Also Launched by Tokopedia

Additional capital of USD 2 billion from SoftBank was also used to build urban transportation networks and transform services including health. Back to the collaboration between Tokopedia and GoApotik, the feature is then supposed to help the public get medicines easily.

In addition to health services, the startup also offers Tokopedia Salam, a platform to purchase Muslim products. Currently, Tokopedia Salam is considered to have experienced a pretty good increase after its appearance. One of the indicators is the number of visits which reached 45%.
