The video-on-demand streaming service, POPS Worldwide, is ready to be present in Indonesia as a new step in an aggressive expansion effort throughout Southeast Asia. POPS claims to have started moving to attract Indonesians through a platform that has been enjoyed by neighboring countries such as Vietnam, Thailand and Singapore.

At the beginning of its operations, strategic development, and growth in Indonesia, POPS appointed Zico Kemala Batin as a country manager. Previously, Zico served as Director of Business Development at Alibaba Group.

“Indonesia is a dynamic market with tight competition for POPS expansion in Southeast Asia. I am honored and excited to lead this expansion because now is the right time,” said Zico in his statement, Monday (21/9/2020).

By using a local approach, and emphasizing strong technology and content, he continued, he believed that POPS would be the next big thing in the Indonesian market.

The Expansion will Start in 2021

Expansion to the country begins with collaboration with Indonesia’s best talents. With the success of the multi-platform network in neighboring countries, POPS Indonesia will use a similar talent search model, and provide the best content and entertainment solutions for audiences and brand partners.

POPS Indonesia’s video-on-demand streaming service, POPS App, will be available in early 2021 with a new interactive digital experience driven by local entertainment and a variety of original POPS content ranging from music, animation, live-action, and e-sports content.

Zico expressed his belief that the unique combination of various digital entertainment services will be well received by the Indonesian people, as a fulfillment of the demand for one of the most promising markets in the world.
