Quoted from the official BWI website, cash waqf is a waqf made by a person, group, institution, or legal entity in the form of cash. The form of cash waqf distribution can also be in securities.

Through this feature, Tokopedia users can distribute cash waqf starting from IDR 10 thousand to IDR 100 million. To do this, go to the Tokopedia Salam page, then select cash waqf.

Then select a waqf channeling partner and payment method. After the transaction, the user will receive a report regarding the use of waqf. President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) had said that the national potential for cash waqf reached IDR 188 trillion.

Overall, the potential for waqf assets is IDR 2,000 trillion. Currently, CWLS has collected more than IDR 54 billion. As of the end of last year, the total cash waqf collected and deposited in the bank was IDR 328 billion. Meanwhile, the project-based waqf is IDR 597 billion.

Digital Platforms Can Maximize Potential Donations

Head of the BWI Implementing Agency, Mohammad Nuh, said that the potential for large cash waqf needs to be maximized, one of which is through a digital platform. “This is so that the impact of the great potential of cash waqf can be felt by the community effectively,” he said.

Apart from this new feature, the company also presents a number of other features in Tokopedia Salam that can be used to share kindness. Starting from the features of Donation, Zakat, Fidyah, Charity Box, and Qurban.
